From a casual observer’s point of view, it seems like Bill Gates always gives credit to Elon Musk’s competitors and never acknowledges Tesla’s revolutionary achievements. This is what presumably happened when the second richest man in the world, to address the decarbonization plan, praised the following electric vehicle innovators but failed to include Tesla:
- GM.
- Rivian.
- Ford.
- Bollinger.
The article promoted biofuels and encouraged further research into other motor powering alternatives. It also suggested that electric trucks have a long way to go before they can be a reality, and when Elon was asked to comment on the article, he replied that Gates had no clue.
After unveiling a sold-out Cybertruck and it’s premium bigger brother, the Tri-Motor All-Wheel Drive, which is slated to be released in the year 2021 and 2022, respectively, Musk feels that Bill Gates is dead wrong about the potential of the electric vehicle batteries.
Tesla revolutionized the design of the electric vehicle battery. However, it appears that Bill Gates suggests that the technology is still in its infancy when it comes to powering long-haul electric trucks.
